Basic Winemaking Course Returns

Back again by popular demand, Guy Lauterbach of Gray Pine Vineyard & Winery is offering a winemaking basics course this fall.  Limited to 5 attendees, this is a nuts and bolts of wine making course that received rave reviews last year.

The course will consist of three 2-2 ½  hour sessions at Guy’s Grey Pine Winery on either Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the day that best suits the attendees.  We anticipate the first session to be on the weekend of Aug. 22, the 2nd in mid-September and the 3rd in early October.  Sessions will start at either 8:30 or 9:00 am, again depending on the attendees.  The dates are subject to change based on what is going on in the vineyard and winery.

Course Topics:
Session 1 (Pre-harvest): Sanitation, equipment, crop evaluation
Session 2: Crush, fermentation, press off
Session 3: Racking, oaking, aging, bottling

Masks and other protective COVID safeguards will be required.  The five participants will be determined on a first come, first served basis.
If you would like to sign up for these sessions, please email Tony Clarabut at tsclarabut@gmail.com.  In your email, please state whether you prefer Saturday or Sunday sessions and whether you’d like an 8:30 or 9:00 am start time or if you have no preference.

Thank you again to Guy for providing this opportunity to SWGGA.
